Love Your Body and Embrace Your Best Life

You Can Eat Whatever You Want!

You Can Eat Whatever You Want!

You Can Eat Whatever You WantYou may not realize this, or think about it much, but you can eat whatever you want. We forget this sometimes, as there’s so many shoulds surrounding food and diet.

But really, you can eat whatever you want!

And, you are the only one who will live with the choices you make, the good, the bad and the neutral (if that exists). With the food we eat, we get feedback from our bodies. I’m sure you are aware of the short term and long term impacts of your food choices. The short term sugar high, followed by the sugar low is predictable, we’ve all done that!

That healthy meal you enjoy so much that leaves you feeling nourished before you have your dessert will feel a lot different than just chips for dinner. There are also long term changes, I don’t need to go into those details, we all know what happens with long term habits that aren’t so healthy for us, they catch up to us eventually.

So, it’s your choice, you can have ice cream for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but how would that feel? Someone who has a wheat allergy can certainly eat some bread, but there are a whole cascade of symptoms he or she will have to deal with and recover from.

You always need to weigh the benefits. How much will I enjoy this? Sometimes, I’m willing to go for it and suffer the consequences, sometimes I’m not. It’s probably the same with you.

So with that in mind, how do you want to feel?

To that end what do you want to eat?

Personally, I want to feel good and I’ve figured out what I can get away with so my health, both mentally and physically are not impacted. For instance, in the french fry and dessert department, I know my limits.  If I eat too much chocolate, I don’t sleep well, and I pay the price with insomnia.

When you eat in alignment with your true desires, you’ll find yourself eating for nourishment and pleasure more often than not. It’s not like you won’t have treat foods, but it won’t be your primary intake and it will be something you enjoy, no big deal.

How do you eat in alignment with your true desires? When you clear out all the old habits and patterns that keep you from eating well, all it does is make it easier to choose in the moment. You can still choose pie, but you won’t feel the urgency, the guilt, the shame, etc. What you will feel is the moment of choice, instead it being automatic, something that feels outside of your control. You’ll also likely feel like you only need a fraction of what you used to need to feel satisfied. And you won’t experience the guilt, regret, etc. that we’ve all had in the past.

When you’re addicted or feel addicted to certain foods and you can’t stop eating them or you obsess about them if you don’t eat them, you don’t have a choice. That’s miserable. I want you to have choice! I’d like you to be able to make choices that feel good to you and if you have a treat, I want you to feel like you’re in charge and you’re able to thoroughly enjoy it.

To that end, I’m putting together a group program to help you let go of the obstacles to making the healthy food choices you want to make. I’m on a mission to help you with the tools that will put you in charge of your eating. So, if you want to eat healthy food, and be in charge when you eat treats and be able to stop, this may be for you. Stay tuned.

Please know, when it comes to treats, it doesn’t have to be all or nothing–unless you want it to be. And if you do, I can help you get sugar out of your life. But, I can also help you feel in control around sugar, it’s all about what YOU want.

Remember, you can eat what you want, but I’d like it if you felt like you had a choice and you enjoyed the short term and long terms effects of your choices a whole lot more.
