How to Flip the Switch and be Free of Food Cravings

How to Flip the Switch and be Free of Food CravingsWhat Do Food Cravings Have to Do With Circuit Breakers?

Well the analogy will help clarify the benefits of ‘flipping the switch’ on your Food Cravings, just like you would on a circuit breaker.

So, imagine there’s a storm brewing outside and your power goes out. Actually, your circuit breaker got ‘tripped’ but you don’t know anything about circuit breakers. You are sitting in the dark.

Three of your neighbors come to help as they saw your power go out. Of the three, which one will you let help you?

    1. Your sweet, sympathetic, but not too handy neighbor bearing candles and flashlights so you can better function in the dark?

    1. Your notoriously nasty neighbor, Guilt N. Regret, that criticizes you for not knowing anything about circuit breakers?

  1. Your rather handy neighbor who knows exactly where the breaker box is, and quickly shows you how to flip the switch so your power returns and you know how to respond if it happens again?

Well, #1 is a nice gesture, but it doesn’t really solve the problem does it?

Please don’t let #2 in the door, you’re already way too familiar with that nasty talk!

I prefer #3 and that’s how I approach Food Craving Sessions. I would rather first show you how to flip the switch so the power comes on and your Food Cravings turn off. I don’t want to distract you with solutions that don’t go to the source of the issue. The power just needs to come back on, remember?

I could certainly fill blog posts about how to avoid cravings with:

1. What foods to eat

2. What foods to avoid

3. What supplements to take

4. How to balance hormones

5. How to manage stress, etc.

This is all helpful, but they don’t always solve the underlying issue, which is ‘the switch hasn’t been flipped!. Until the switch is flipped, Food Cravings can return in times of stress, PMS, or when you eat too many sweets or carbs, resulting in blood sugar swings.

During these times, your cravings can return full force if you haven’t addressed the underlying issue. It’s like a storm hits; you have PMS, you’re tired, suffering from lack of sleep, got some bad news, and off you go to the nearest food you crave. Sound familiar? It’s enough to put the most determined back to square one!

How to Flip the Switch on Your Food Cravings

If I can show you how to ‘flip the switch’ so these storms become a thing of the past, wouldn’t you prefer that? After your session, you may still want to take supplements, and perhaps your hormones could benefit from some balancing, etc. but cravings aren’t at the forefront of your concerns.

People that have come to me with very strong cravings have reported that their desire for certain foods changed dramatically after a session, sometimes two. These changes feel natural to them, and being in charge of their eating feels natural too, even if it’s a totally new experience. The great thing, is that the next time a storm comes in (a stressful life event) the power won’t go out again, because the cycle of craving has changed, and the power stays on. How does that sound?
